For those that are in the same boat as me and purchased their coffee press from starbucks and are not sure whether this is the item they need to replace the glass beaker, well it is. As mentioned in other reviews Bodum should look into using a stronger glass for the beaker as these are entirely too fragile for the average amount of cleaning done to the Coffee Press. This beaker, even though it states 34oz and bodum lists the item at 32oz on their website, this beaker will fit the 8 cup press that can be purchases from starbucks among other places. I bought this not sure if it would fit my Starbucks purchase of a 8 cup Bodum Coffee press. My previous beaker broke when it tipped over in the sink.

It was cheaper than the Bodum french press and works just as well. When I ordered this replacment I decided to order an "unbreakable" french press.
