This isn't like solving a quantum physics problem. Or, with glass of greater thickness. Or, with a thermoset plastic. I've had a Bodum coffee press for more than a year. The solutions are obvious. However, my one beef with this product is that the glass beaker is far too fragile. It makes wonderful coffee every time. Why can't Bodum make this product with tempered glass.
Buyer beware. This product came in in a timely manner and without damage but turns out I could have got the very same item for $7.99 instead of $19.99. Shame on you for outrages mark up, shame on me for not comparing prices before purchase.
Thanks. Shipped fast and was a perfect fit. My husband broke his Bodum coffee press glass beaker, and I wanted a replacement. This one beats the price getting it from Bodum directly.
My challenge came in trying to brew my coffee while I was waiting (I used a small strainer with a paper towel). My new glass beaker was at my door three days after I placed my order. I do have a tip for not breaking the beaker-in the future-when washing it, don't have anything else going on and dry it and put it back into the holder asap. Yes, these glass beakers are soooo easy to break. But the good news is that a replacement is very easy to get.
Good job packing, folks. UPS threw it over the gate and it still arrived unbroken.
